Breathe in the Fresh Air – Our favorite spring mountain hikes: Many trails are open with little to no snow and very few people. Vibrant bursts of color, new growth sprouts and the breeze filled with the sweet scent of pine and fresh earth. There is no place better than hiking in Lake Tahoe. Here are a few ‘not to miss’ trails for spring.
1) Tunnel Creek Trail to Monkey Rock. It will get your heart pumping and offer some of the most stunning views of North Lake Tahoe’s east shore. The trailhead begins east of Incline Village, where there are new paid parking spots at the Tahoe East Shore Trail and bike path.
2) Try the trails at North Tahoe Regional Park. You can get there with a walk out the back of MLRTahoe or access with a short drive. Varied levels and lengths wind you through a beautiful forest with great views of surrounding mountains and lake.
As the snow quickly melts, there are so many more trails to explore. Explore our other recommended hiking experiences here.
Bike The Truckee River and the West Shore: Bring your bike, or rent an e-bike just down the road. There are so many great bike trails to explore this time of year. Check out a few of our favorites!
1) Try the Truckee River Trail system. Here you can explore over 25 miles of paved trail starting east of Tahoe City and going all the way to Palisades Tahoe. Or, turn left at the Y in Tahoe City and go south, following the trail all the way to Meeks Bay.
